This song sung by Nicole called ‘Rock the House’ was produced by Clivilles and Cole in 1989. It has sum nice Mantronix/Joyce Simms kinda drums. Although it’s 2010 I felt I’d give this one the cutting treatment like I would have done in ‘89. Check it out here!

I only used Sony’s Soundforge this time, to get the real tape editing feel.

When listening to ‘Empire State of Mind’ of Jay-Z f./ Alicia Keys on the radio for the first time I thought it would be great to make a cut up dub from this song.  I almost immediately heard Alicia’s cut up vox in my mind. I just love edits at downtempo (I guess you can call 90BPM downtempo, can ya?). The result is so much cleaner that cuts at 135BP). You got to give this guy sum real props, cuz he keeps on producing massive cuts in his own particular style. He is a true messenger of the art of editing. My first encounter with this song, btw, was in the February Summerstreet mix by JTHZ in the late 80’s. Talkin’ bout multi editing!
